With the Democratic primary set for June 23, Lamb says the transition presents an opportunity to refocus the seat on economic security for working families amid rising housing costs, grocery prices, and job instability.
“For years, I’ve studied and worked within what I call the housing industrial complex — the system of policies and incentives that often prioritize development and profit over long-term stability for residents,” Lamb said. “I’m running because District 6 families deserve leadership that protects people first — keeping them secure in their homes, expanding opportunity, and ensuring growth strengthens our communities instead of destabilizing them.”
Lamb’s campaign centers on three core priorities:
• Housing Stability & Security — preventing displacement, protecting homeowners from tax sale and foreclosure risks, and addressing the structural factors driving unaffordability.
• Re-employment & Economic Mobility — expanding pathways for residents facing long-term unemployment and aligning job growth with the district’s cost of living.
• Food Access & Community Health — partnering with local stakeholders to eliminate food deserts and improve access to affordable, nutritious options.
A lifelong Prince George’s County resident and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Lamb has been engaged in community service since childhood. Through her leadership at The Haven Firm and the Kirby Institute, she has advocated locally and at the state level for housing equity, preventative policy solutions, and economic access. Her work has included engagement with Maryland General Assembly members and federal policymakers on housing and community stability issues.
While her platform centers on economic security, Lamb says she is equally committed to responsible growth, youth engagement, public safety, and transparent governance.
“This moment requires thoughtful leadership,” Lamb said. “We can grow, we can expand, and we can invest — but we must do it in a way that keeps families secure and communities whole.”
Lamb’s campaign will focus on direct voter engagement across District 6 leading up to the June 23 primary.
